My mom and dad bought me the Anne of Green Gables trilogy.  It's perfect timing since I have the week off.

hee.  i love this movie.

This weekend I heard an amusing story from Chase's sister's friend Krysta.  Apparently when she drinks, she thinks that she gets smarter.  Apparently, it's like she has a fifth sense or something.

Does anyone know of someone in the Guelph area who might be willing/able to hire a co-op student for the summer?  I am starting to get panicky because the co-op office is NOT helpful, and I have to find something soon.  It's only a four month HR related co-op, and there is a tax credit available.

Any help would be appreciated.  I am stumped.

As most people know by now, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is set to come out July 21st.

We will be having a super duper fun Harry Potter Night at Chapters to get ready for the 12:01 release of the book.  I (along with others) have been elected to plan the party, so if anyone has any ideas for Harry Potter/Magic/Wizards themed activites, could you pass them my way?  Also, if anyone knows a kid-friendly band who might be interested in playing (for free) will you let me know?

Also, if anyone wants to avail of my discount, let me know.

A Headline in today's Toronto Star:

Apparently, they have been trying to get the sloth to climb up a pole and back down again as a part of an animal movement experiment.

So here's the part that bothers me, why why why why did it take THREE YEARS for them to figure out that the sloth was not going to move?  If this isn't the perfect example of a university wasting research money, I don't know what is.

Poor sloth...he just wants to remain stationary.

I am watching Elton John on MuchMore Music right now.  I love Elton.  I wish his vocal chords would allow him to sing Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road though, because that would be even better.

So last night was (what I was promised) the last overnight shift.  They have changed their minds three time already because the fixtures weren't sent.  So monday, I slept all day only to be told not to come in. Didn't sleep, but went into work for 8am tuesday got sent home early and told to come back at 9pm.  Then I got called again, and it was moved to last night.
9-8-00am.  One twenty minute break.  And I spent most of the time cleaning the fixtures, because they were filthy.  Every muscle in my body hurts, and I want to sleep for the next 10 days.

Things that I am thinking about getting Chase for Christmas:

Nintendo Wii
New Slippers
a golf club wheeler-thingy
a black hoodie that says "skulls rule" on it
socks. lots of socks.
"The Truth With Jokes" by Al Franken

That is all that I have on my list.

our laundry room has been broken into and vandalized three times since we have moved in.  When this happens, we then have no laundry for several weeks.  And the most annoying part is that it could have been avoided if people had remembered to shut the door behind them.  It's locked for pete's sake.  Now I will have to hope that Chase's mom will let me use hers again.  I mean, I have no clean socks! Not a single clean pair!

whew.  just finished two more overnight shifts at Chapters, but it's done, and over.  We are re-merched, and it looks pretty good if I do say so myself.  Before I tell you a story from that experience, I have to say a couple things.

1) school is brutal.  I can't believe how many freaking assignments there are.  I have done more work in the last month and a half than I did in FOUR YEARS of university.  Also, I have completely read (cover to cover) THREE textbooks.

2) Lesley and Chris, I can't believe how big Peter is getting!  He doesn't look almost 5 months.  He's a big lad, but still preciously adorable, don't worry.  He's not like some of those freak babies out there, like the obese ones on Maury.

3) We got kicked out of Oktoberfest for excessive drunkenness.  I didn't know that was possible at Oktoberfest.

Ok, now the story.  Helping us re-merch was a boy named Luke who used to work there, and is friends with Brad.  He came to lend a hand.  Last night we were eating lunch and he told us about a girl who moved here from India and has the most unfortunate name.  Actually, it's a beautiful name, it's just an unfortunate spelling.  Her name is pronounced SHHH-THH-EEED.

PS.  does anyone else fight the urge to weep uncontrollably when they hear Amazing Grace on bagpipes?  I do.  Damn you Afghan Misson.
